Hugh McKenna (Long Island MMA) Hugh McKenna started off Bellator MMA’s major event at Madison Square Garden, Bellator 180/NYC, with a victory. The man from Syosset beat New York’s John Salgado via submission in the first round. It took about four minutes for Hugh McKenna to secure the victory. McKenna (1-1) utilized the kimura to end the fight and provide the New York City crowd with an exciting finish. He is the product of Long Island MMA, home of several premiere MMA athletes. Some of the fighters include Ryan LaFlare and Dennis Bermudez. Salgado falls to 4-8-1 after his sixth straight loss. It will be interesting to see where the welterweight goes from here. At 27, some consider him in the prime of his career, and he should only go up from here. As Bellator grows, so does it’s talent, and McKenna should be able to take full advantage of it. With more training from LI MMA, anything is possible. Post Views: 1,771 The following two tabs change content below.BioLatest Posts Daniel Yanofsky Baseball Editor, Misc. Sports Editor.
