College MBB: BIG EAST Tournament Preview by Staff Post March 5, 2016 NYT.com It is finally that time of the year. The time where college basketball is magnified and madness is a daily occurrence. The time is March, and college basketball conference tournaments are back in action. With the conclusion of BIG EAST conference play on Saturday, the BIG EAST Tournament bracket is set and it is just four days away. The Tournament will once again be played at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan, New York. It is the tournament’s 33rd consecutive year at The Worlds Most Famous Arena. Tickets are available at TiqIQ.com with hotels in NYC available at Hipmunk.com. Fans from out of the city can also find cheap flights at Hipmunk. The BIG EAST Tournament will tip-off on March 9. At 7 p.m. No. 8 Georgetown will face No. 9 DePaul and at 9:30 p.m. No. 7 Marquette will face No. 10 St. John’s. The tournament will roll on Thursday, March 10 in the Quarterfinals when No.1 and reigning BIG EAST champions Villanova will take on the winner of DePaul and Georgetown at noon. The game will be followed by No. 4 Providence and No. 5 Butler. At 7 p.m. No. 2 Xavier will take on the winner of St. John’s and Marquette. The final game of the day will follow when No. 3 Seton Hall takes on No. 6 Creighton. The Semifinals will take place March 11 at 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m., and on March 12, the Final will take place at 5:30 p.m. The First Round through the Semifinals will be shown on FOX Sports 1 and the Final will be shown on FOX.
