Mets’ fans jumped to Twitter and Facebook, et al after Yoenis Cespedes was hit in the hand by a pitch Wednesday night.

Of course, Mets-Nation feared the worst and played arm chair MD, even going so far as analyzing photographs from the web of Mets’ trainer Ray Ramirez holding Terry Collins’ middle finger.

However, the news was decent.

Cespedes’s X-rays were negative and the star outfielder was diagnosed with “bruises” to the middle and ring fingers.

It isn’t the best news, but at this point, there doesn’t appear to be any bones broken.
