Mike Farrelly promoted to Associate Head Coach of Hofstra Men’s basketball

In a move that surprised no one, longtime assistant Mike Farrelly was promoted to Associate Head Coach of Hofstra Men’s basketball team.  Farrelly has been with the team for seven seasons, alongside Head Coach Joe Mihalich.

“There is no one more deserving of this promotion than Mike,” commented Mihalich. “He is extremely knowledgeable and his forward-thinking as it relates to analytics and game preparation have assisted our program in a multitude of ways. Mike’s future in this sport is very bright and I know eventually he will be a highly-successful head coach. He has had a major impact on the success of our program and I am thrilled that we are recognizing his contributions with this promotion.”

Farrelly and Mihalich as looking to build on one of the best seasons in Hofstra basketball history.  Their 2018-19 season had them win 27 games and the first CAA regular season title since 2000-01.  The Pride’s next goal is to make the NCAA tournament, a feat they haven’t accomplished since 2001.
