Micah Seaborn College Monmouth 1,000 point scorer, Micah Seaborn, headed to NBA G-League by Gregg Snyder October 22, 2018 Micah Seaborn, is taking his game to the professional level. The former Monmouth star was taken in the first round of the 2018 NBA G League Draft on Saturday, selected 19th overall by the Grand Rapids Drive, the league’s affiliate of the NBA’s Detroit Pistons. Seaborn finished his career at Monmouth with 1,444 points, 14th most in school history. He averaged 13.5 points per game throughout his career, a mark that sits 11th in Monmouth history. “It was a great moment for me when I found out,” said Seaborn through a University release. “I put in a lot of hard work through these last few years to get to this moment. It was a great and humbling experience for me to know that a team thought that highly of me to take me in the first round. I talked to the coach, the president and the GM and it just seemed like they’re really excited about me being there so I can’t wait to start this journey with them.” The Drive open the 2018-19 regular season on Friday, November 2 against the Erie Bayhawks. Grand Rapids will be in the area on January 4 when they play in Delaware against the Blue Coats, and again on January 16 when they will take on the Long Island Nets at Nassau Coliseum. Seaborn was the fourth fastest player in Monmouth Hawks history to reach 1,000 points.
