Look out, Mexico City!  The Brooklyn Nets are headed your way.

The team officially announced on Wednesday that the Nets will play two regular-season home games at Arena Ciudad de Mexico in December.  They will face the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday, December 7 and the Miami Heat on Saturday, December 9, as part of the NBA Mexico City Games 2017. The Nets will be the home team in both contests, so Kenny Atkinson’s young squad only gets to play in Brooklyn 39 times this year.

Unfortunately for Nets fans, this means reigning league MVP Russell Westbrook and his new All-Star running mate Paul George will not be appearing in Brooklyn this season. Nonetheless, it is always good for a rebuilding team to get some International exposure.

“We’re excited to take part in fostering the NBA’s global outreach and to connect with the Nets current and growing fanbase in Mexico,” Sean Marks said. “Our players and staff are looking forward to exploring Mexico City and its culture, while providing fans with the experience of two regular-season Brooklyn Nets games.”

Both games will be televised around the world on NBA TV. The Nets have not played overseas since facing the Atlanta Hawks in London back in 2014.
