Soccer New York City FC trades for defender Eric Miller by Stefano Bentivogli July 29, 2019 New York City FC has announced that it has acquired defender Eric Miller from Minnesota United. This was a forced purchase to make up for the absence of Joe Scally who will remain out for a long time after hip surgery. Miller played in the Montreal Impact in 2014 and after two seasons he moved to the Colorado Rapids. Miller is a great graft of experience for New York in an area of the field where Torrent had to adapt. Scally was Tinnerholm‘s replacement, after his injury Torrent adapted Torres in that role but he is a midfielder. In the two games in which Torres played in that role he did not disappoint, but it was necessary to take a natural player for that position of the field and the choice was clear. Eric Miller is now a part of NYC FC because of that.
