Hockey New York Rangers Christmas Wish List A Christmas Wish List by Staff Post December 25, 2015 The New York Rangers got an early Christmas present Tuesday night when they defeated the Anaheim Ducks in overtime by a score of 3-2. But the Rangers hope that there’s more gifts under the tree for them come Friday. Here’s a list of items Santa should deliver to the Rangers this holiday season: More goals: In their last 15 games, the Rangers have scored more than three goals only five times and have failed to get more than two goals in seven of the games. Wins on the road: It’s officially been more than a month since the last Rangers road victory. They won on November 21st against the Florida Panthers and since then have dropped seven consecutive road contests. They’ll have a chance to right that following the Christmas break when they go on a tough road trip to play Nashville, Tampa Bay and the Panthers. Good health: For the most part the Rangers have had luck in this department (knock on wood) but they are waiting on Derek Stepan and Kevin Klein to get back out onto the ice. As soon as they do, the Rangers will get that much better at the previous two items on the wish list. Better defensive efforts: This is another item where Klein will certainly help. The Rangers have surrendered five goals or more five times in their last 15 games. The defense as a whole leaves a lot to be desired because they have not played well as a unit and gave the opposition many good scoring chances. If the Rangers can find ways to get these four things going right for them they will have a more successful time following the Christmas break and return to their season-starting winning ways.
