Feature New York Red Bulls Sign Gonzalo Veron as a Designated Player by Staff Post August 5, 2015 from: Newyorksportshub.comVeron is the youngest designated player signed by New York Red Bulls. He has yet to feature for the Argentina National Team, but has won trophies in Argentina. 25 year old winger Gonzalo Veron has been signed from Club Atletico San Lorenzo in Argentina for an undisclosed amount as a designated player. This is a major signing for the Red Bulls as Veron becomes the youngest designated player to be signed by the club. Head Coach, Jessie Marsch had high praise for his new signing saying, “We are excited to add Gonzalo to our club. We think he fits into the style that we want to play. He is a young, exciting player with the ability to play a few different attacking roles. He has the potential to be a dynamic player in this league”. A creative attacking player like Veron will only help further strengthen the Red Bulls who are tied for fourth in MLS with 32 goals scored and fifth with 33 assists. Veron is no stranger to winning either, during his time with San Lorenzo he helped them finish first in the Primera Division’s Torneo Inicial in 2013, and lifted the Copa Libertadores trophy in 2014 as well. Veron is not likely to feature tonight when the Red Bulls take on the Montreal Impact but there is a good chance he will make his debut in the New York Derby this Sunday, August ninth at Red Bull Arena. However, there is no better way to make a Red Bulls introduction then in a rivalry match.
