New York Yankees starting pitcher Ivan Nova is scheduled to start a rehab assignment on Monday. Nova, who has been sidelined all season recovering from Tommy John surgery will begin his rehab with Class A Tampa.

According to multiple reports, the strong right-hander is expected to throw around 75 pitches, which has been his maximum in extended Spring Training games. The Yankees are hoping after a few rehab starts he will be up to about 90 pitches and will be deemed ready to go for Major League action.

Nova, who hasn’t been on a Major League mound in over a year will likely need 3-4 rehab starts before returning to the big leagues, but if all goes well and there aren’t any setbacks Yankees fans could see Nova back with team by the end of June.
