Football NFL: Top 3 Games To Pay Attention to This Sunday – Week 9 by Andrew Larkin November 3, 2018 Heading into Week 9 in the NFL, as teams start to show their colors and find their rankings in the respective divisions, we’re presented with another weekend of competitive and gritty matchups. If you love a good game, you might want to pay attention to these ones this Sunday. New York Jets (3-5) vs. Miami Dolphins (4-4) With the Jets rookie QB Sam Darnold starting at the gun, New York is looking for a win to get ahead in the division and make themselves heard among the competitive AFC East. WR Robby Anderson and WR Quincy Enunwa will be valuable weapons for Darnold’s pass game, as they try to combat QB Brock Osweiler. Osweiler starts, as the regular starting QB, Ryan Tannehill, suffers a shoulder capsule injury. This matchup comes as interesting, due to the fact of Osweiler’s experience vs. Darnold’s rookie presence with the Jets. For the gamblers out there, Odds Shark has the Dolphins as favorites at -2.5. The over/under is 43.5, and they’re predicting the over. Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2-1) vs. Baltimore Ravens (4-4) The second matchup that stuck out to me was another divisional game. One of the most classic rivalries in football go at it in Baltimore, as the Steelers try to extend their three-game winning streak. Again this matchup is a prime example of said divisional games and the high tensions that come with them around this time of year. It’s not quite time to seed teams for playoffs, but this game really makes you feel like it. Ravens QB Joe Flacco is going so far to snap the back-to-back losses that he shaved his beard just to be safe. Again, for the gamblers, the Ravens are the favorite going into this one at -2.5 as well. The over/under is set at 47, and it’s predicted to break the over. Los Angeles Rams (8-0) vs. New Orleans Saints (6-1) The final matchup is almost too obvious. The only undefeated team in football faces the leader of the NFC South. It’s very clear this game will be ELECTRIC. Saints QB Drew Brees is coming off a bye week, to THIS. The LA Rams have been putting on a clinic so far, and it’s no shock either. With RB Todd Gurley leading the league in rushing yards (800), rushing TD’s (11), and rushing yards per game (100), they deserve to be undefeated. This game should come right down to the wire, but I’m predicting New Orleans to hand out the Rams first loss. According to Odds Shark, LA is the favorite at -2, but they predict the Saints to still pull it out. The over/under is at 57.5, and they’re predicting the under. As we near the end of the season, make sure to keep an eye out for more of these wonderful matchups. Soon enough, playoff chances ride on it. Expect more of these games as the weather gets colder and the tension gets higher. Before you know it, it’ll be Wild Card Saturday.
