Noah Dobson collects first career point in debut

The Islanders looked completely lifeless in their 5-2 loss to the Edmonton Oilers, but one player who stuck out in the game was Noah Dobson. The young defenseman made his long overdue debut on Tuesday night and collected a primary assist on Matt Martin’s goal late in the third.

Dobson is as advertised; He played a great game against one of the best lines in all of hockey. He wasn’t paired much against Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, but he got plenty of action throughout the night.

Dobson had 18:50 of ice time and was a +1 in his debut. His assist was a beauty to Matt Martin. He was fed the puck near the blue line and he drove down and snapped one right onto Martin’s stick. He was one of the few players that showed up on Tuesday (we’ll get to this game in the Weekly Review) and should get more playing time going forward.

The assist is below;
