Hockey NWHL and Dunkin’ Donuts Continue Partnership Agreement by Chip Gianni October 27, 2017 The National Women’s Hockey League on Friday announced that they have renewed their partnership for a third season with Dunkin’ Donuts. Dunkin’ Donuts began their commitment to the NWHL and women’s and girls’ hockey during the inaugural season in 2015. As in the previous two seasons, the Canton, Massachusetts based corporation will continue to coordinate with all four franchises, Metropolitan Riveters, Connecticut Whale, Boston Pride and Buffalo Beauts, the ability to provide female youth hockey players with hockey clinics with representatives from those four markets. Signage on Uniforms, Benches, Goals The Dunkin’ Donuts iconic orange and pink logo will also be prominently featured on all team jerseys, goal posts and behind the benches at all four arenas. The league and team websites will also display the logo as part of the advertising and partnership agreement. Tom Manchester, Vice President of Field Marketing with Dunkin’ Donuts said, “Dunkin’ Donuts has a long hockey heritage, from sponsoring leagues, teams and arenas to keeping families running with a hot cup of coffee in the stands or on the way to practice. Our partnership with the NWHL not only deepens our connection to hockey culture, but helps drive critical awareness for female athletes and the increasing popularity of women’s hockey. It has been a privilege to be a part of this important league and we look forward to continuing our support of the NWHL as a pinnacle of women’s hockey.” NWHL Commissioner, Dani Rylan added, “Dunkin’ Donuts has been a fantastic partner and friend of the NWHL since the beginning, and their invaluable support of our league and commitment to our athletes has played a significant role in our success in bringing fans the chance to watch some of the best women’s hockey players in the world. Through our Dunkin’ Donuts clinics, young girls are not only able to visualize the dream of becoming professional players, they can learn first-hand from NWHL athletes. The NWHL truly does run on Dunkin’, and on behalf of our teams and our players we could not be more pleased that Dunkin’ Donuts will remain an important part of our league.” NWHL/NHL Doubleheader The NWHL will faceoff in season three on Saturday October 28, as the Riveters will battle the Pride at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, at 1:30 PM, and the Whale host the defending Isobel Cup Champion, Beauts at Terry Conners Ice Rink in Stamford, Connecticut, at 2:30 PM. The Riveters and Pride game will be part of a historic NWHL/National Hockey League double header, with season ticket holders of the Riveters and New Jersey Devils, being allowed to take in both games. The Riveters will take the ice against the Pride as part of the early game at 1:30 PM followed by the Devils facing off against the Arizona Coyotes at 7:00 PM. A special 40 dollar ticket will also get fans into both games and can be purchased at www.nwhl.zone/tickets. Metropolitan Riveters & New Jersey Devils Deal The Devils and Riveters signed a three-year partnership agreement earlier this month, reaching the first ever partnership between teams from the two leagues. In addition to helping promote the game in the New York and New Jersey area, the Devils also will provide the Riveters with support, from ticketing and use of their facilities.
