Hockey NY Rangers to hold Prospect Development Camp this Week by Staff Post June 29, 2015 Brady Skjei Ranger President and GM Glen Sather announced on Monday, June 29, that the Annual Prospect Development Camp would run from Monday June 29 to Friday July 3. The Camp will be held at the MSG Training Center. Among the invitees, will be Brady Skjei, Adam Tambellini, Brandon Halverson and Ryan Graves. Brady Skjei is a native of Lakeville, Minnesota and was a first round selection of the Rangers in the 2012 NHL Draft. The Blueshirts selected him as the 28th overall pick. Brady stands 6 foot 3 and weighs 206 pounds and is favorably compared to fellow Minnesota native, Ranger Captain, Ryan McDonagh. The 21 year old Skjei played three years with the Golden Gophers of the University of Minnesota under head coach Don Lucia. In 33 game during his junior season, Skjei had one goal and nine assists for a total of ten points, as the Gophers won the Big Ten title. On April 1, 2015, Brady joined the AHL Hartford Wolf Pack and played in eight regular season games as well as 15 playoff games. He scored a goal and dished out two assists in those playoffs, as the Wolf Pack advanced to the AHL’s Eastern Conference Finals. Adam Tambellini is a native of Port Moody, British Columbia and was selected by the Rangers with the 65th pick overall during the third round of the 2013 NHL Draft. At only 20 years of age, Adam has increased his scoring every year. In 71 games this past season with the Calgary Hitmen of the WHL (Western Hockey League), he scored 47 goals and added 39 assists for a total of 86 points. This made him more than a point per game center. He also added 30 penalty minutes and finished with a plus 43 rating. The 6 foot 3, 195 pounder set many career highs for himself this season in the WHL. They were: games played, goals, assists, points and plus/minus rating. Adam was also named to the WHL Eastern Conference Second All Star Team. He was also one of six players in the three Canadian Major Junior Leagues and one of three in the WHL, that finished the season with more than 40 goals and a plus/minus rating of over +40. Adam signed an entry-level contract with the Broadway Blueshirts on March 10, 2015. Brandon Halverson, 19, is a native of Traverse City, Michigan and was selected by the Blueshirts 59th overall during the second round of the 2014 NHL Draft. Brandon appeared in 50 games this past season for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the OHL (Ontario Hockey League) and posted a fantastic record of 40-5-2. Halverson’s GAA (Goals Against Average) was 2.63, His SV% (Save Percentage) was .913 and he pitched six shutouts. He also led the OHL in wins, tied for the league lead in shutouts, ranked third in GAA and ranked seventh in SV%. Brando became the youngest Ranger draft pick in franchise history to earn at least 40 wins in the juniors in just one season. Brandon, who stands 6 foot 4 and weighs 185 pounds, also played on Team USA at the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championships. In the only game he started, which was his International debut, he pitched a shutout. Ryan Graves, the 20 year old Yarmouth, Nova Scotia native, was selected 110th overall by the Blueshirts during the fourth round of the 2013 NHL Draft. Ryan stands 6 foot 4 and weighs 220 pounds and played in 50 games this past season with the Quebec Remparts of the QMJHL ( the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League). In those games, he scored 15 goals and dished out 24 assists for a total of 39 points. He also finished with a plus/minus of +17 and totaled 49 penalty minutes. Graves established career highs in the QMJHL this season in the following: goals, assists, points, shooting percentage (9.4%) and Power Play Goals (4). He also scored five points (two goals and three assists) in five games during the Memorial Cup. Ryan was named to the Memorial Cup All-Star Team for his performance.
