Soccer NYCFC 24-Hour Game at Rockefeller Center Kicks Off Season by Stefany Romero March 10, 2019 NEW YORK, N.Y – Friday, New York City Football Club (NYCFC) kicked off its second annual 24-Hour Game at Rockefeller Center. More than 700 New Yorkers took part in the soccer game on the iconic Plaza over 24 consecutive hours of play. NYCFC Head Coach Domènec Torrent, Sporting Director Claudio Reyna, and First Team players were present for the start of the game,and they cheered on the amateur players, and participated in the opening ceremony before the Game began. The game was split between Team Ring and Team Maxi, representing the players on the team. The event took place the same weekend that will start off NYCFC’s 2019 season. The Home Opener at Yankee Stadium against D.C. United will take place on Sunday at 3:00 p.m The Game had a few Special guests included celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson, former World Cup Final referee and current General Manager of the Professional Referee Organization (PRO) Howard Webb, and two-time Emmy Award winning commentator Fernando Fiore.
