Soccer NYCFC announces Ronny Deila as the club’s new manager Deila replaces Domènec Torrent as leader of the Pigeons. by Stefano Bentivogli January 6, 2020 NYCFC announced on Monday that Ronny Deila is the new coach of New York City FC. The club made the hiring official on its website and social media. Deila has trained in both Norway and Scotland. He has won a Norwegian championship, a national cup as head coach of Strømsgodset IF, and two championships in Scotland with Celtic Glasgow. These are the first declarations made by Ronny Deila as the new coach of New York City FC: “It is a dream for me to be the head coach of New York City FC, a great club in an amazing city. We start with a solid base. I just have to convey my ideas and try to improve the team. The way I prefer to play is similar to what New York has played so far. I really like the team playing on offense. I like having possession of the ball but also being concrete on offense. “ Deila can’t wait to start this new challenge Deila is excited only at the thought of starting this new challenge driving New York: “I can’t wait to get on and get to know the players in the preseason and start working in New York. I am ready to see our supporters and hope to have a wonderful relationship. I will do everything I can to play good football and I will give everything from myself to the club, and I’m sure we will make fantastic things in the future”. The New York City FC market Now that the team’s new coach has been chosen, New York City FC will begin to take its first steps on the market. There will be no upheavals in the team. Deila was clear, the base is good and solid and the team just needs to be improved. There will be only tweaks aimed at improving an already strong team that must now be concrete and start winning some trophies.
