NYCFC, Torrent: We must continue to win

New York City FC returns to play at Yankee Stadium after getting its first league win against DC United. Domenec Torrent spoke thus about the moment of the team, just ahead of the next game against Chicago Fire: “In the last month we have always trained well, we just missed the victory that finally came against DC United. Now we have more confidence, we always train hard but now we do it with a smile. We are happy to have achieved the first victory against DC United, but above all because we played well”.

One of the team’s columns is surely James Sands: “Sands is very important for us, he can play in multiple roles. I am happy with his performances, especially in the last two games. He is a very important young player for this club. He’s a mature guy. I expected him to play this way, he and Scally are our future”.

New York City FC managed to get the first victory, managing the great pressure in the best way: “We always have the pressure, there is in the whole football world and in all the championships, as well as in Europe. When you’re not able to win a game you’re in trouble. We must have a clear conscience about this and work in the best possible way. Surely so the results will come. In the last game when we missed the penalty I thought we could no longer win that game. I know what can happen, the coaches live with the results”.

Having obtained the first victory, Domenec Torrent does not want to stop: “Now we have more confidence, the mood has improved and we must continue like this. By winning against Chicago and then Orlando we will be able to move up the rankings. Our thought is only to win” .
