MMA Obtainable Resolutions? ONE Championship hoping for U.S. debut, 50 live events in 2020 by Daniel Yanofsky January 7, 2020 In 2019, ONE Championship had arguably its best year; hosting 42 events while also signing talented fighters. They finished up two successful Grand Prix’s, with Demetrious Johnson dominating in the flyweight division. It looks like 2020 is looking to blow 2019 out of the water. ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong posted on social media that ONE will host over 50 shows. That includes its main MMA programming, feeder shows ONE Warrior Series and ONE Hero Series. Another entity that has been gaining traction is ONE Esports. “We at ONE Championship are excited to build strategic partnerships with leading global brands,” Chatri stated in a press release. “Our organization is about unleashing the greatness of humanity upon the world, through our martial arts and esports platforms. Each of our partners share with us a harmonious culture of excellence and innovation, and each play a specific role in realizing our vision at ONE Championship. We aim to ignite the world with hope, strength, dreams, and inspiration, and share the amazing stories of our athletes with millions of people across the globe.” ONE expanded its PPV events in 2019 to a variety of cities like Vietnam and Tokyo. In addition to hosting events in Bangkok, Singapore and Manila, ONE is expecting to eventually announce events in India and the United States, if everything goes according to plan. Is there a way for expansion to happen? By growing its brand via the market, yes. ONE also announced partnerships with brands like JBL, TUMI, Redbull, Lazada, DBS Bank, Foodpanda, Hugo Boss, Harvey Norman, Secretlab, California Fitness, Kredivo, Reckitt Benckiser and Unilever. ONE was able to utilize the United States market by providing fans the opportunity to view ONE: Century back in October via TNT. If the numbers received were any indication, ONE Championship may very well top buys and TV viewers.
