Offensive Outburst Leads Temple Over UCF

For the second game in a row, Temple led by 19 at the half. The Owls never led by less than 12 points for the final 24 minutes of the game. They finished 50% from the field and knocked down 10 three pointers (56% from long range). Temple’s 86 points, was the highest final point total they have had all season. 
 
A big part of the Owls victory was a dominant defensive performance. They forced 16 turnovers and only committed eight. On the offensive boards, they out rebounded the Knights 13-6 which contributed to 15 second chance points to UCF’s four. 
 
The Owls had an impressive four players score in double figures, all four being guards. Senior Jesse Morgan scored a team high 15 points. Will Cummings and Devin Coleman each tallied 14 points, while Quenton DeCosey finished with 13. Junior Devontae Watson was just one rebound and one point shy of recording a double-double. Brandon Goodwin led the Knights with 17 points. Unfortunately for UCF, their leading scorer B.J. Taylor (14.1 ppg average), was out with a concussion. 
 
Temple has now won two games in a row by an average of 24. 5 points. With a 14-7, 5-3 record in The American, the Owls will host Tulane this upcoming Saturday at noon ET. The game will be available to watch on CBSSN/1210 AM WPHT.
