College Oklahoma Softball Player Lauren Chamberlain Makes History by Stephen Ur May 1, 2015 Oklahoma softball player Lauren Chamberlain hit her 91st career home run yesterday against North Texas, breaking the 13-year NCAA record previously held by UCLA’s Stacy Nuveman. Not only was this home run history, but it was powerful history, as Chamberlain’s record-breaker was a grand slam. This is not the first time Chamberlain has marked a milestone. As a freshman, she hit thirty home-runs, becoming only the ninth player in NCAA softball history to reach that mark. She’s also only the third person to ever hit 80 careers home runs. Chamberlain has made so much history, despite playing the least amount of games during the season out of the entire Oklahoma Sooners softball team.
