ONE Championship reveals first half 2020 schedule

Following ONE Championship’s wildly successful 2019 in which it celebrated its 100th card and made plans to debut in the United States, the company is looking to grow further in 2020. ONE Championship announced the first half of its schedule for 2020.

So far, twelve events have been made official. Here is the initial schedule for the start of the year:

  • January 10 – Bangkok, Thailand
  • January 31 – Manila, Philippines
  • February 7 – Jakarta, Indonesia
  • February 28 – Singapore
  • March 20 – Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
  • March 28 – Chongqing, China
  • April 5 – Tokyo, Japan
  • April 24 – Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
  • May 15 – Macau, China
  • May 29 – Manila, Philippines
  • June 5 – Jakarta, Indonesia
  • June 19 – Seoul, South Korea

It is expected that high-profile events will take place in Singapore, Vietnam, Japan and China. As far as debuting the United States, nothing is set in stone. More cards on TNT and B/R Live are expected to take place. ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong did briefly discuss a U.S. tour, as more events will be announced within the next few months.

“For the coming year, ONE Championship intends to hold a minimum of 50 events, including those from ONE Championship, ONE Hero Series, ONE Warrior Series, and ONE Esports,” Sityodtong went on to say. “More announcements will be coming shortly for the 2020 calendar. In addition, if all goes according to plan, we hope to throw our first events in the United States, India, and Korea in 2020. While nothing is 100% confirmed yet for US and India, serious initial discussions have been underway. Also, with the success of ONE Hero Series China, we will now launch ONE Hero Series Philippines, our local league in the Philippines, in 2020 to widen our search for the next global martial arts superstar.”

With offices opening up in New York and the West Coast, ONE’s takeover will be a slow but efficient effort. Stay tuned as more information should be released soon.
