This morning, NYCFC announced that Villa extended his contract through the end of the 2018 season. httpss://twitter.com/Guaje7Villa/status/859755900634099713 “I am so happy,” exclaimed Villa. “I am so proud of everything we’ve done together here at NYCFC.” Villa, who turns 36 in December, still has something left in the tank. After winning the MLS MVP last season, Villa has started off 2017 in a similar fashion, scoring five goals in his first seven games. For Villa, this contract extension symbolizes unfinished business for the Spaniard. “I’m so happy here in this city and at this club,” said Villa. “I’m not ready to go to the sidelines. That’s why continuing here and signing this contract was a really easy decision for me.” There is only one thing on Villa’s mind going forward, and that is winning an MLS Cup. With this contract extension, Villa will have two more shots to get it. As a bit of a reminder and foreshadowing of what fans can come to expect from the Captain, here are some of Villa’s best moments with the club so far. httpss://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3JZi5-v47Y Post Views: 1,384 The following two tabs change content below.BioLatest Posts Joshua Sampson Joshua is the NYC FC Beat Writer for DoubleGSports.com and contributes in others areas as well.
