Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots (24-27, 66-55) and the Lancaster Barnstormers (29-23, 67-55) split a double header at TD Bank Ballpark on Wednesday evening.

Game 1:
Lancaster took the first game 7-6 in ten innings, with the go-ahead run scoring on an RBI fielder’s choice by Cole Garner.

The Barnstormers took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on an RBI double by Sean Halton.

Lancaster extended the lead with two runs in the second inning on a fielder’s choice and a wild pitch for a 3-0 advantage.

Somerset cut the lead to 3-1 on an RBI single by Aharon Eggleston in the bottom of the second inning.

Josh Bell’s sacrifice fly in the top of the third inning put Lancaster up 4-1.

The Patriots made it a one-run game on Mark Minicozzi’s two-run home run (5) in the bottom of the third inning.

Somerset tied up the game with a run in the bottom of the fourth inning on an RBI base hit by Yovan Gonzalez.

The Barnstormers answered in the top of the fifth inning on an RBI single by Nate Coronado to regain the lead.

Olmo Rosario tied up the ballgame again in the bottom of the frame with a long solo home run (6) over the left field walls.

Lancaster took the lead in the top of the sixth inning on an RBI double by Lance Zawadzki that made the score 6-5.

The Patriots once again knotted up the game in the bottom of the seventh inning on a Minicozzi sacrifice fly to force extra innings.

Daniel Moskos (6-2) picked up the win with a scoreless 1.1 innings pitched. Dustin Antolin (1-2) suffered the loss, allowing a run on two hits in an inning pitched.

Game 2:

The Patriots rallied to defeat the Barnstormers 4-2 in the second game of the double header.

With the game tied at 2-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning, Justin Trapp delivered a bases loaded RBI single up the middle for the go-ahead run. Adam Donachie’s RBI fielder’s choice made the score 4-2, which would be the final.

The Barnstormers took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a solo home run by Garrett Weber (13).

Lancaster made it a 2-0 game in the top of the second inning on an RBI double by Cole Garner.

Carlos Guzman launched a solo home run (6) in the bottom of the third inning to cut the lead in half.

Somerset tied up the game in the bottom of the fourth inning on an RBI single by D’Vontrey Richardson.

Kyler Newby (3-4) picked up the win with a scoreless inning pitched. Brian Bergesen (9-8) suffered the loss, allowing four runs (three earned) on eight hits in five innings of work. Dustin Molleken earned his third save of the season with a scoreless seventh inning pitched.
