Pittsburgh Steelers, Mike Tomlin fined $350,000 for mask violations

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been fined by the NFL for face mask violations following Week 8’s game against the Baltimore Ravens.

The Steelers were fined $250,000 and Mike Tomlin was fined $100,000, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Steelers entered the NFL’s intensive COVID-19 protocols to ensure safety of all coaches and personnel. This followed Marlon Humphrey, Baltimore Ravens DB positive COVID-19 test.  The team received all negative COVID-19 test.

The Steelers are amongst the teams whom host fans in stands and reiterates social distancing and safety.

The NFL continues to emphasize the importance of social distancing and face covering during game activities especially to staff and personnel. The NFL has seen a drastic increase in cases amongst all teams. Following protocol during game activities is crucial to the continuing the season safely.
