Pittsburgh Steelers place four players on Reserve/COVID-19 List; list includes QB Ben Roethlisberger

The Pittsburgh Steelers placed four players on the reserve/COVID019 list. The list of players include QB Ben Roethlisberger, OL Jerald Hawkins, RB Jaylen Samuels and LB Vince Williams. Players are required to isolate for five says and will participate in virtual meetings, according to The Steelers.

“Those guys will be working remotely throughout the week and testing daily. As long as their test come back negative, we believe that all four guys have na opportunity to be made available to us on Saturday” 

-Coach Mike Tomlin said on Tuesday

These players were deemed to be “high risk” close contact with TE Vance McDonald who tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday, according to ESPN’s Tom Pelissero 

 

Tomlin and the team were fined $350,000 for violating face-covering protocols during games.

The NFL continues to deal with COVID-19 and its impact on various teams. The leagues intense protocols are being emphasized throughout games. It is important for players to do their part outside of practice facilities and games to ensure the safety of others and themselves.

If they test negative throughout the week the players will be able to play on Sunday. The Steelers will host the Bengals on Sunday.
