BasketballPotential 2018 Draft Targets for Brooklyn Nets by Sam Gaudio June 6, 2018 Who are the Brooklyn Nets likely to pick up in the 2018 NBA Draft? The Nets head into the 2018 NBA Draft in a few weeks with a pick in the first round at number 29 and two picks in the second round at numbers 40 and 45. The organization has had less than 25 wins in the past three seasons and are looking to gain some serious talent in this year’s draft. Draft projections and mock drafts show a few that standout as potential picks for the Nets coming up on June 21.One potential pick is Moritz Wagner, a junior power-forward from Michigan, originally from Berlin. He was essential to Michigan’s run in the tournament that lead them to the final game against Villanova.Other mock drafts indicate that Hamidou Diallo is likely to get picked by the Nets in either the first or second round. Diallo is a freshman shooting guard from Kentucky.Chandler Hutchison is a promising senior small forward from Boise State who is a potential draft pick along with Jerome Robinson, a junior shooting guard from Boston College. Robinson is a 6’5 versatile scoring guard who mostly flew under the radar with his BC team the past few seasons.Jalen Brunson and Grayson Allen are also contenders to be picked up by Brooklyn. Brunson is a junior point guard from Villanova and Allen is a senior shooting guard from Duke. Brunson led Villanova to a second National Championship in three years as a freshman and a junior and won National Player of the Year this past season. The Nets could also look to pick up either Melvin Frazier, a junior small forward from Tulane or Tyus Battle, a sophomore guard from Syracuse. Battle is originally from Edison, New Jersey and hit an average 19.2 ppg during his sophomore season at Syracuse. Frazier averaged 15.9 ppg this season and is projected to be in the range between 32-41 which makes him a prime pick for the Nets.
