College Princeton Men’s Basketball Loses Thriller to Harvard; Beats Dartmouth by Staff Post February 1, 2015 (GoPrincetonTigers.com) On Friday night, Princeton took its’ three game winning streak to Jadwin Gym to play preseason favorite, Harvard. Harvard took a 39-29 lead into half, however Princeton never seemed to let go. The Tigers kept fighting back the whole game and cut the Harvard lead down to four with just a few minutes to play. However, Harvard scored the next two baskets to increase their lead to eight. Amir Bell made two threes late in the game to make it a one possession game, but the Tigers ran short of time and were handed their first Ivy League loss. The Tigers didn’t have to wait long to get back into the winning column. The next day, Dartmouth came to Jadwin gym looking to hand the Tigers their second straight loss. The Tigers had other ideas. Princeton came out firing, never surrendering a lead during the entire 40 minutes. Their largest lead came with just under 12 minutes to play when the Tigers to a 53-36 lead. Dartmouth used a 9-0 run to cut the lead to eight with just under nine minutes to play. However, Princeton seemed to have an answer to Dartmouth’s run, and never let their lead drop lower than eight points. Princeton went on to finish the game at 64-53 and move to 2-1 in the Ivy League. The Tigers will be traveling to the Big Apple Friday night in their first road Ivy game against Columbia. The game is set to tip-off at 7:00 and will also be featured on ESPN3.
