MMA Pro Wrestling and MMA to intertwine at Bellator 231 by Daniel Yanofsky October 25, 2019 Having the opportunity to work for both Bellator MMA and AEW, Jake Hager’s momentum is through the roof right now. Looking to build on that partnership, the All-American won’t be alone when he steps in the cage for his third MMA bout this year. At Bellator 231, Hager (2-0) will be facing Anthony Garrett. According to ESPN, Hager will have members of The Inner Circle in his corner. Sammy Guevara and LAX’s Santana and Ortiz will cheer on the muscle of the group. It is unknown the extent of their visit or if footage will be taped for future AEW programming. If anything, it would be on Being The Elite or Guevara’s YouTube page. When speaking to Hager at a Bellator media event (via Wrestling Inc.), the former WWE Champion discussed how easy the working relationship was with Scott Coker and Tony Khan. “Honestly, it was such a breath of fresh air. Both of those guys were so willing to work with me,” Hager stated. “AEW loves what I’m doing with Bellator and Bellator loves what I’m doing with AEW. I don’t think 10 years ago you would see that happen where an MMA fighter would go work on a pro wrestling TV show right in the middle of camp. For Scott and Tony to be willing to work with each other and understand that this is something really cool and cross-promote, among other things, the sky’s the limit. I feel like that’s the mindset with it. Entertainment is a big part of MMA and it is unique.” Whether or not this will be a regular thing is unknown, but Hager needs a big win in order to make this collaboration worth it. Putting both worlds together can be risky, but Hager has shown he can thrive in any atmosphere. Do you like the mixing of worlds that is currently happening at Bellator 231?
