Q&A with Blair Academy guard Kyle Cuffe, Jr.

Kyle Cuffe Jr. is one of the top sophomore guards in the country. He helped lead Blair Academy to a 24-3 record this past season. The four-star recruit holds numerous Division 1 offers from many schools around the country. I caught up with Kyle to discuss his sophomore basketball season and his latest offers.

Double G Sports: How do you think your season went this year? What were you able to show as a player?

Kyle Cuffe Jr.: I think my season went really well despite the three losses. I feel like my teammates and I competed and battled against top teams in the country. This season I was able to show how determined of a player I am when it comes to winning. I showed that I can score the ball as well as play lock down defense.

DGS: What do you think you need to improve on for next season?

KC: Something I need to improve on is definitely my shooting. I shot the ball better than last year but I want to keep improving.

DGS: What colleges have offered you?

KC: Pittsburgh, St. John’s, Seton Hall, UConn, Iona, Stony Brook, Hofstra, Holy Cross and Manhattan.

DGS: Which schools are recruiting you the hardest and what do you like about those schools?

KC: All of the schools, I’m blessed with have been great.

DGS: Your dad [Kyle Cuffe Sr.] played at St. John’s. What stands out to you about St. John’s basketball?

KC: I like how the St. John’s coach is making the team his. Coach Anderson shows great grit, and he is going to push his guys to the fullest.

DGS: You visited St. John’s, UConn, and Seton Hall attending their games, how did the visits go and what do you like about those programs?

KC: The visits went really well, I loved seeing the schools that I have offers from compete. I have to start thinking about where I might want to play soon!

DGS: What have the coaches said they like about your game?

KC: Coaches like my motor, toughness, and my willingness to compete.

DGS: Do you have any visits planned?

KC: I have no visits planned right now.

DGS: What are your goals for next season?

KC: My goal for next season is to get 1% better with my team (Blair Motto) and win a state championship. I have to get that, came up short in the Championship game this year.
