Interviews Q&A with Blair Academy guard Kyle Cuffe, Jr. by Daniel Flores April 9, 2020 Kyle Cuffe Jr. is one of the top sophomore guards in the country. He helped lead Blair Academy to a 24-3 record this past season. The four-star recruit holds numerous Division 1 offers from many schools around the country. I caught up with Kyle to discuss his sophomore basketball season and his latest offers. Double G Sports: How do you think your season went this year? What were you able to show as a player? Kyle Cuffe Jr.: I think my season went really well despite the three losses. I feel like my teammates and I competed and battled against top teams in the country. This season I was able to show how determined of a player I am when it comes to winning. I showed that I can score the ball as well as play lock down defense. DGS: What do you think you need to improve on for next season? KC: Something I need to improve on is definitely my shooting. I shot the ball better than last year but I want to keep improving. DGS: What colleges have offered you? KC: Pittsburgh, St. John’s, Seton Hall, UConn, Iona, Stony Brook, Hofstra, Holy Cross and Manhattan. DGS: Which schools are recruiting you the hardest and what do you like about those schools? KC: All of the schools, I’m blessed with have been great. DGS: Your dad [Kyle Cuffe Sr.] played at St. John’s. What stands out to you about St. John’s basketball? KC: I like how the St. John’s coach is making the team his. Coach Anderson shows great grit, and he is going to push his guys to the fullest. DGS: You visited St. John’s, UConn, and Seton Hall attending their games, how did the visits go and what do you like about those programs? KC: The visits went really well, I loved seeing the schools that I have offers from compete. I have to start thinking about where I might want to play soon! DGS: What have the coaches said they like about your game? KC: Coaches like my motor, toughness, and my willingness to compete. DGS: Do you have any visits planned? KC: I have no visits planned right now. DGS: What are your goals for next season? KC: My goal for next season is to get 1% better with my team (Blair Motto) and win a state championship. I have to get that, came up short in the Championship game this year.
