Photo by Joel Muniz on Unsplash COMMUNITY Los Angeles Rams team up with LA Regional Food Bank to provide holiday meals for over 8,000 people amid COVID-19 by Mecca Lennon December 26, 2020 The Los Angeles Rams partnered with the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and the Pechanga Resort Casino to provide holiday meals for over 8,000 individuals. This will be the Rams’ third drive-thru food distribution event SoFi Stadium. “Tens of thousands of Angelenos are hurting from the pain caused by this pandemic. Our Tribe knows adversity. We are grateful to provide a little bit of help and hopefully some joy during this holiday season.” – Jared Munoa, President of the Pechanga Development Corporation. The meals featured Don Lee frozen chicken, potatoes, oranges and a shelf stable kit. The families also got facemasks and personal bottles of hand sanitizer. Volunteers included Rams cheerleaders, Rampages, and front office staff. September 9, the Rams partnered with the LA Regional Food Bank to provide meal kits for over 2,300 families and more than 9,000 people, which is about 70 pounds of food, according to the Rams. The Food Bank hosted over 120 food distributions from the March to September. “The Rams are proud to work with community partners such as Pechanga and the LA Regional Food Bank to provide meals to more than 2,000 families during this holiday season. “Together, we made the holidays brighter for neighbors who have fallen on hard times as the number of households battling food insecurity continues to rise in Los Angeles during the COVID-19 pandemic.” -Lexi Vonderlieth, Los Angeles Rams Vice President of Partnership Marketing.
