The New York Rangers are set for what should be a lively preseason matchup against one of their bitter rivals, the New York Islanders.  The game will take place at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut, home of the Islanders AHL affiliate the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, on Friday, Sept. 22 at 7:30 p.m.

These New York teams have fought back and forth for local bragging rights since the Islanders founding in 1972. With some of the most passionate fans in professional sports standing behind these teams, the competitive spark will bring some exciting hockey to Bridgeport to kick off the season.

This will be the sixth NHL game held at Webster Bank Arena, as the Islanders have hosted the Washington Capitals, the Bruins, among others and now the Rangers for exhibition games. Yet in addition to the exciting NHL events, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers are a thrill for any hockey fans in the area to check out.

The Sound Tigers are an extremely talented AHL team, so much so that 12 of the Islanders current players previously played in Bridgeport. Offering up extremely flexible ticket packages, every fan should take advantage of watching these great young players prepare for the NHL.
