1994 New York Ranger and Stanley Cup Champion, Jeff Beukeboom, was promoted from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL to behind the Rangers bench to serve as one of Alain Vigneault’s assistant coaches.

The move comes at a brilliant time for the Rangers as they look to Brady Skeij and Dylan McIlrath to be their defenseman of the future. Beukeboom was not only a great defenseman in his own right but he worked with Skeij and McIlrath in Hartford where they all had much success.

That kind of continuity with young players can only help their development further and now the Rangers have someone who knows their organization inside and out. It’s a complete win win for the team, the players, the coaching staff, and the organization as a whole.
