The New York Rangers have agreed to a deal with center Jarret Stoll. It is only a one-year deal worth $800,000, making it a low risk high reward type of deal. Stoll is now 33 and coming off of a season in which he had only six goals and 11 assists in 73 games.

His true value for the Rangers however lies in his ability to win a faceoff, something the team has struggled with in recent seasons. Stoll has a career 55.4 faceoff win percentage and has won at least 51% of his faceoffs every season in the NHL.

Stoll has had some notable off the ice trouble but if the three time Stanley Cup finalist and two time champion can stay healthy and be productive in the faceoff dot for the Rangers, help on the penalty kill, and provide stability to the lower lines it will prove to be a solid pickup for New York.
