Hockey Rangers Sign Nicklas Jensen and Mat Bodie to New Contracts by Staff Post July 6, 2016 Mat Bodie (www.hartfordwolfpack.com) The New York Rangers continued their slow and steady approach to the off-season yesterday when they made a couple of far below the radar re-signings. Nicklas Jensen – a forward – and Mat Bodie – a defenseman – are the latest players to receive new contracts from the Rangers’ front office. Both players spent time with the Rangers’ AHL affiliate the Hartford Wolf Pack last season which included Bodie captaining the side for the final month of the team’s regular season campaign. Both Bodie and Jensen are young guys, 26 and 23 respectively, and could prove useful to the big club in New York at some point soon. In addition to leadership, Bodie also provides stability having played all of the Wolf Packs games last season and equaling the team lead for assists. Jensen, while still young, has some NHL experience and is a decent point collector having put up 25 in 41 games with the Wolf Pack last season. Leadership, stability, youth and a nose for the goal are all adjectives the Rangers are looking for this offseason so look for these two to make an impact, for sure with the Wolf Pack, and hopefully with the Rangers as well.
