Soccer RBNY Struggling to start the MLS Season, Fall in KC by Staff Post April 13, 2016 (John Minchillo/AP) It’s probably time for New York teams to avoid Kansas City teams for a while. The Red Bulls followed up the Mets’ opening day blues against the Royals by dropping a tough game themselves at Red Bull Arena to Sporting Kansas City. Despite losing the game 2-0, the Red Bulls actually played pretty well. They held a lot of the ball, created some good chances, and even had a penalty kick that was unfortunately saved. The loss dropped the team to 1-4-0 on the year, certainly not what they expected following last season’s success. However, despite the loss, there were some positive notes in other areas. Luis Robles played 90 minutes for the 111th match in a row, just one 90-minute game behind Kevin Hartman for most consecutive 90-minute games played in MLS history. And with his appearance in the loss, Dax McCarty passed Carlos Mendes on the Red Bulls all-time-games-played list and is now alone in third with 147 appearances. Also, in an incredible show of support, the Red Bulls provided a dedicated quiet zone in the crowd for supporters with autism to enjoy the game as a part of Autism Awareness Night. The Red Bulls next play on Wednesday at 10:30pm in San Jose on MSG.I Post Views: 1,125 The following two tabs change content below.BioLatest Posts Staff Post Latest posts by Staff Post (see all) In The Zone Announces Initial Podcast Lineup - November 13, 2020 The Essential Resources You Need to Start Your Own Gym in 2020 - February 6, 2020 Wilder vs Fury II – How the second fight will be different to the first? - February 5, 2020 Early turnovers, defensive struggles plague the Scarlet Knights - January 26, 2020 Related TopicsDax McCartyKansas City FCMLS Click to comment You must be logged in to post a comment Login Leave a Reply Cancel replyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
