Soccer Red Bulls Felipe Named MLS Player of the Week by Staff Post March 22, 2016 Felipe Martins (Photo by Minas Panagiotakis/Getty Images) What has already been a wonderful week for the New York Red Bulls following their epic comeback win against the Houston Dynamo just got better. The catalyst for the comeback, Felipe, who scored two goals in the last 15 minutes of the game, earned him the honor of being named MLS Player of the Week. The two goals by Felipe — his first two of the season — now leave him just one shy of his entire total of three from last season. If this performance is any indication, the Red Bulls and Felipe could be in for an outstanding season so long as he stays in form. As for the team as a whole, they needed that win to get off the schneid. They dropped their first two matches of the season and they’re off for an extra week due to the international break; having a win to take into the break is a much better feeling than a loss, for sure. The Red Bulls are next in action on Friday April 1 at 7:00 PM on UniMas, taking on the New England Revolution.
