Red Bulls Star Murillo Eyes Move To Europe

Michael Amir Murillo may have only just returned to the Red Bulls following his call up to the Panama squad for the FIFA World Cup, but he’s already eyeing a move away from the club.

The 22-year-old starred for his nation in their games against both Belgium and England and is thought to be looking for a move to Europe this summer.

It’s been reported a number of clubs have shown an interest in the full back as the Red Bulls look to catch both New York City and Atlanta United at the top of the MLS.

The club are currently 13/2 to claim the title with bookmakers, so they’ll be desperate to keep hold of him until at least the end of the season.

Those odds are fairly good, but if you’re looking to maximize your winnings with Freebets.co.uk, it could be worth waiting until Murillo is gone, given it could affect the odds.

PSV currently looks the most likely destination, despite the Panamanian still having two years left on his contract.

Murillo looks certain to go though, signalling his intentions after the franchise’s 1-0 loss to rivals NYC FC. He said, “Every soccer player longs to play in Europe and that’s the desire I have. I hope everything gets sorted out and I can go to Europe.”

The player has been a regular for the Red Bulls since joining the club on loan from San Francisco, a club plying their trade in the top flight of his home nation.

After two loan spells in which he made 19 league appearances, he made the switch permanent ahead of the 2018 MLS season.

He’s been a real star since then, being instrumental in the team’s run to the CONCACAF Champions League Semi Final, enjoying two assists in the Quarter Final, to help them reach the final four for the first time.

A man for the big games, it’s no wonder to see Europe come knocking and it’s expected Murillo will wish to use a PSV type club as a stepping stone as he looks to advance his career.

He was regarded fairly well in the World Cup, despite failing to pick up a point and its likely the coming weeks could see him move on while the transfer window is open ahead of the 2018/19 season in Europe’s top flights.
