Revolution Take Series Finale Over Patriots 4-3

727garceauwebYork, PA – The York Revolution (10-9, 50-39) scored four unanswered runs in the late innings against the Somerset Patriots (11-9, 49-41) to win the rubber match Wednesday evening at PeoplesBank Park. York tied the game at three with a three runs in the sixth then Joel Guzman’s homer (12) proved to be the difference in the eighth inning as 4-3 was the final score.

 

“There’s still lots of optimism with this team,” said Shaun Garceau, who won a Championship with the Revoution in 2011. “We’re in every game and once we get rolling in every facet we will be right where we want to be.”

 

Somerset received an RBI double from Bryan LaHair in the third inning. David Vidal and Kyle Roller chimed in with their own RBI doubles in the sixth inning as the Patriots nursed a 3-0 lead.

 

In the home half of the sixth inning Guzman tallied an RBI sacrifice fly to get York on the scoreboard. Later in the frame Bryan Pounds and Michael Rockett notched RBI singles to tie the game at 3-3.

 

Guzman picked up his league leading 62 RBI of the season with a no doubt homer in the eighth inning to break the tie making the score 4-3.

 

Scott Rice (4-0) earned the win pitching one inning of relief. Brandon Sisk (3-4) suffered the loss, yielding just his third homer of the year in 35 appearances. Mike DeMark tallied his league leading 24th save. He is a perfect 4-for-4 in save opportunities against the Patriots in 2016.
