York, Pennsylvania – The Somerset Patriots (20-25, 62-53) allowed a season-high 17 hits in an 11-3 loss to the York Revolution (27-19, 55-62) Wednesday night at PeoplesBank Park. Somerset opened the scoring in the top of the first on a Mark Minicozzi RBI fielder’s choice. York responded with a Telvin Nash RBI groundout to level the game in the bottom of the first. The Revs later took the lead with a two-out RBI single from Alonzo Harris in the second and a two-out, two-run single from Ryan Dent in the third. Alfredo Rodriguez brought the Patriots within two on an RBI groundout in the top of the fifth before York responded with four runs in the bottom of the frame. RBI doubles from Nash and Dent, along with an RBI single from Luis Cruz and a Travis Witherspoon sacrifice fly provided the damage. Somerset get a run back in the top of the sixth on an Aharon Eggleston two-out RBI single, but stranded the bases loaded and failed to trim the deficit further. The Revolution then added three more runs in the bottom of the eighth on RBI doubles from Jared Mitchell and Michael Burgess to top off the scoring. Steve Janas (5-5) earned the win after allowing three runs (two earned) over five and two-thirds innings pitched. Will Oliver (5-5) yielded seven runs on nine hits over four-plus innings to suffer the loss. The Patriots conclude their four-game series with the Revolution Thursday night. Right-handed pitcher Lucas Irvine (8-3, 3.76 ERA) works against York southpaw Logan Williamson (5-8, 5.11 ERA). First pitch Thursday night at PeoplesBank Park is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tickets to the 2017 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford, which includes the team’s 20th Anniversary, are on sale now.
