Here are three takeaways from the broadcast:

1) It was shorter

This year, the show is only a half-hour long compared to the one hour showing it has been the last two years and the first 90-minute installment in 2012. While it is not a big deal, there is less inside exclusive access the fans would love including interviews with current and former players and practice drills.

2) Academics & life outside of football

While the show obviously emphasized the drills of practice, and highlights of the Scarlet-White spring football game, there is great academic attention stressing the student side of the main reason of college.

In addition, there are other exciting bonding moments between the teammates and the always fun Dance Marathon.

3) Recruiting tool

This documentary can be used a great recruiting tool where the high school football players can get an inside look into daily happenings of the Rutgers football program. The broadcast prioritized the former Scarlet Knights in the National Football League showing if you come to Rutgers, you will be prepared and have an opportunity to make it to the highest level and possibly win the Super Bowl.

Many of the former athletes like San Fransisco 49er’s offensive lineman Anthony Davis of Piscataway made a pitch that the top New Jersey high school football players should come together, stay home, and dominate for Rutgers, the state University of the Garden State.
