Richburg and Pugh Set to Return Against Jets

The Giants have released their inactives ahead of Sunday’s big game against the Jets, and reinforcements are coming to the Giants’ offensive line.

LG Justin Pugh (concussion) and C Weston Richburg (ankle) both missed last week’s loss to the Redskins. While Pugh, who was listed as probable, was always expected to make his return on Sunday, Richburg was questionable. However, both are active and expected to start today.

Their returns couldn’t come at a better time, as RG Geoff Schwartz was placed on injured reserve earlier this week after breaking his leg against the Redskins. RT Marshall Newhouse is also out with a back injury.

With Pugh and Richburg back in action, the Giants’ offensive line will likely look like this: LT Ereck Flowers, LG Pugh, C Richburg, RG John Jerry and RT Bobby Hart.

The Giants will be without a few playmakers, however.

TE Larry Donnell will miss his fourth straight game as he recovers from a neck injury. Will Tye will continue to start in his place.

The Giants’ secondary takes a hit as SS Brandon Meriweather (knee) will miss Sunday’s game. The Giant’s safeties have struggled this year, but Meriweather has been the best of the bunch. Craig Dahl is expected to start alongside rookie Landon Collins.

OLB Devon Kennard is also inactive as he deals with hamstring and foot injuries. Mark Herzlich and Jonathan Casillas will likely see time in his place.

OT Emmett Cleary, WR Geremy Davis and DE George Selvie are also inactive.

On the Jets’ side, the big story is star CB Darrelle Revis will miss his second straight game as he recovers from a concussion. Revis was expected to cover Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr., but now he may see more of Antonio Cromartie, who famously called Beckham a “one-year wonder” earlier this year.
