This is without a doubt a “Fight of the Night” candidate.

New Jersey’s Jimmie Rivera will face Thomas Almeida at UFC on FOX 25 on July 22. The card will take place at the newly renovated Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale. Newsday announced the match up on Tuesday.

Rivera (20-1) is on a four fight win streak since joining the promotion. The fifth ranked bantamweight earned an unanimous decision victory over Urijah Faber at UFC 203 in September.

Almeida (21-1) will be making his return to the octagon since picking up his first career loss in May. Current 135-pound champion Cody Garbrandt knocked out ninth ranked Almedia in the first round of the bout.

This is the third match up announced for the first-ever Long Island card. Long Island’s Gian Villante is set to face Patrick Cummins, while New Jersey’s Frankie Perez is set to avenge his first professional loss against Long Island’s Chris Wade.
