After the Buffalo Beauts were defeated by the Connecticut Whale on Sunday evening, the New York Riveters clinched the number two seed in the Isobel Cup Playoffs. In becoming the second seed in the National Women’s Hockey League, the Riveters will host either the Beauts or the Whale at the RJW Barnabas Health Hockey House in Newark, New Jersey on Friday March 17 at 7:30 PM. The number one seed, defending champions, Boston Pride will host the lower of the two teams, at the Warrior Ice Arena in Boston, Massachusetts on Thursday March 16 at 7:30 PM. The winners of the two semifinal games will then head up to the Paul E. Tsongas Center at UMass-Lowell, on Sunday March 19 at 6:00 PM, for the chance to take home the 2017 Isobel Cup. Tickets for both 2017 Isobel Cup Playoff games and the 2017 Isobel Cup Final can be found on the league’s website at www.nwhl.zone/tickets. The Riveters have two more games left in the 2016-2017 regular season, as they travel up to Boston on Saturday March 4 to take on the Pride at 6:30 PM before returning home for their season finale, against the Pride, on Sunday March 12 at 4:00 PM. The game on March 12, will also be the Riveters, Autism Awareness Game. Tickets for the season final can be purchased at www.nwhl.com/tickets.
