Football Rodgers-Cromartie Suspended by Giants Actions from Chargers Game Lead to Rodgers-Cromartie’s Suspension by McAdoo by Scott Rogust October 12, 2017 The circus that is the Giants 2017 season continues to roll on. In a Wednesday press conference, head coach Ben McAdoo announced that cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie has been suspended by the team. The suspension stems from Rodgers-Cromartie entering the team facility on Wednesday afternoon, then promptly leaving during practice. “DRC came in yesterday. We had a conversation that was personal upstairs and he came in today. Decided to leave. We will suspend him,” said McAdoo. What Does This Stem From? Rodgers-Cromartie was visibly frustrated this past Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers. The defensive back slammed his helmet while standing on the sidelines, and then proceeded to head to the locker room before halftime. This comes from Dan Graziano of ESPN. The report indicates that some Giants’ players thought Rodgers-Cromartie was going to leave the stadium. This led to a face-to-face meeting with McAdoo and the corner on Tuesday, where McAdoo informed him that he will be inactive for Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos. However, the ten-year veteran still showed up to the team facility on Wednesday. Rodgers-Cromartie reportedly spent time in the hot tub and attended a team meeting. Following the meeting, the defensive back would exit the team facility, causing McAdoo to give him an undisclosed suspension. DRC’s Side of the Story Rodgers-Cromartie gave his side of the story, as he texted ESPN talent Josina Anderson. The corner said that he handled himself the wrong way this past Sunday. However, he had some thoughts about being inactive against the Broncos. “To sit me in a game had me so hot, so I left,’’ said Rodgers-Cromartie. “I was suspended way before I left. I left because I felt what [McAdoo] said was BS.’’ Despite his suspension, Rodgers-Cromartie let his intentions be known that he will show up to the team facility on Thursday. What’s Next? We will have to wait once McAdoo announces the full details of the suspension, as he did not provide any during his press conference on Wednesday. With Rodgers-Cromartie suspended, we will get a full idea on who will fill in for the veteran during practices this week. What can be said however, is that the disaster of a 2017 season continues to get worse for New York. This incident is the icing on the cake. Has Ben McAdoo lost the locker room. The players have denied it, but it is easy to see that the frustration of being 0-5 is getting to some of the players.
