Baseball Ron Darling to rejoin the Mets’ broadcasting booth From 1983-91, Darling had a 99-70 record with a 3.50 ERA with the Mets. by Daniel Yanofsky June 4, 2019 Mets broadcaster Ron Darling started June off in a positive light, announcing that his thyroid cancer has been stabilized. He is set to return to the booth during the Mets’ series against the Giants this week. One of the best analysts in baseball today, Darling is a part of the Mets’ broadcast team along with Gary Cohen and Keith Hernandez. He also does work on MLB Network and TBS as an announcer and studio contributor. While he was gone Todd Zeile was manning the commentary booth. Regardless of how up and down the Mets’ season is, having a former member of the team back and healthy can make any fan of baseball happy. Darling pitched for the Mets from 1983-1991, and was a premier member in the 1986 World Series-winning team.
