College Rutgers Football: 2011 Schedule Rutgers University has released its 2011 Football Schedule. While there does not seem to be a marquee matchup, a few games stand out. by Staff Post February 25, 2011 Rutgers University has released its 2011 football schedule. The out of conferece slate features, North Carolina Central, North Carolina, Ohio, Navy, and Army. Here is the full schedule: Sept 1: North Carolina Central Sept 10: @ North Carolina Sept 24: Ohio Oct. 1: @ Syracuse Oct. 8: Pittsburgh Oct. 15: Navy Oct. 21: @ Louisville Oct. 29: West Virginia Nov. 5: South Florida Nov. 12: @ Army Nov. 19: Cincinnati Nov. 26: @ Connecticut Highlights: – The Scarlet Knights will have nine days to prepare for their game at Chapel Hill against North Carolina. This will be the first test for Rutgers. – Ohio University is coached by former Nebraska head coach Frank Solich – Rutgers opens the Big East schedule with a road game against Syracuse. This game could set the tone for the season for both teams. Rutgers has struggled against ‘Cuse lately. – October 21st at Louisville is a Friday Night ESPN game. – The Nov. 12 matchup against Army will be played at Yankee Stadium. – Rutgers has a bye the week of September 17th and the final week of the season. – 10 of the Scarlet Knights 12 opponents went to a bowl game last season.
