The 6-foot-1, 195-pound prospect said other schools have been showing interest in an interview with NJ.com, but ultimately chose his home state school, the one who he and his family have had season tickets for as fans for years says Campbell.

“Towards the end of my recruitment the last few weeks, I’ve been getting interest from a lot of schools,” Campbell said to NJ.com. “I only have seven offers, but Alabama’s hitting me up, Ohio State and a bunch of big-time SEC schools. But I knew Rutgers was the right place for me and I wasn’t gonna wait any longer.”

Campbell, is a three-star recruit according to the 247Sports Composite, and looks like a heat-seeking missile out on the gridiron according to his film.

The junior joins teammate and fellow 2016 commit Mohamed Jabbie from South Brunswick, along with current Scarlet Knights linebacker T.J. Taylor and lineman Bryan Stonkus. Ex-Rutgers star, and current Cincinnati Bengal wide receiver Mo Sanu is also from the same high school.

Rutgers’ recruiting ranking sits nationally at No. 32 according to 247Sports.com, and is the 15th member of the class.
