College Rutgers Soccer Falls to OSU in Big Ten Tournament, Await NCAA Fate by Stephen Ur November 13, 2015 (Ben Solomon | Rutgers Athletics) The Rutgers men’s soccer team took on the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Big Ten tournament on Friday. The women’s soccer team had made it all the way to the Big Ten tournament final. The men were looking to do the same. The Buckeyes took control in the first minute, when they scored of the first goal from Abdi Mohammed. In the 20th minute, the Buckeyes took a 2-0 lead with a goal from Danny Jensen. In the 46th minute, the Buckeyes took a commanding 3-0 lead when Chirstian Soldet scored a goal off of a rebound. Things were looking bleak for the Knights, down 3-0 in the second half. The Buckeyes added insult to injury in the 87th minute when Alex Nichols scored a goal to make the score 4-0. That would prove to be the final score. The Knights’ Big Ten run ends in the semifinals. Despite the loss, they could still qualify for the NCAA Tournament. They will have to wait until Monday to see if they will play on.
