Saint Peter’s Men’s Golf Finishes Third at Metropolitan Intercollegiate

Junior golfer Mike Winter led the Saint Peter’s Peacocks, and tied for eighth, with a score of +7, (74-73=147), at the Metropolitan Intercollegiate Invitational on Tuesday. Saint Peter’s finished in third place overall with a final card of 305-297=602 (+42), defeating all other Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference teams in the event.

Sophomore Stanley Garrant shot for +12, (78-74=152), following Winter. Juniors Michael Stewart (79-76=155) and Jose Cardona (74-81=155) posted a +15 as freshman Jeffrey Peters carded an 82-74=156 (+16).

The Peacocks finished in eighth place during the first day of the Metropolitan Intercollegiate Invitational, posting +25 (305). Cardona and Winter both tied in 10th place with a score of +4 (74), leading SPU. Garrant followed behind with a +8 (78), Stewart with a +9 (79) and Peters carding a +12 (82).

Saint Peter’s will make their move to Ireland to compete in the Tip O’Neill Donegal Dispora Golf Challenge on Saturday, Oct. 21.
