Serena Williams Sends Daughter to Tennis Lessons…Without Disclosing Her Celebrity Identity

Decorated tennis superstar Serena Williams has signed her three-year-old daughter Olympia Ohanian for tennis lessons! What’s even more intriguing about this development is that Olympia’s tennis instructor had no idea who her famous mother was, as reported by PEOPLE.

Serena told her fans all about it in her Instagram Stories on Friday, in which she went into more detail about prepping Olympia for her first tennis instruction.

She said,  “I signed Olympia up for tennis lessons. Don’t even start with me because I’m not giving her tennis lessons, I signed her up for some. But the lady has no idea it’s my daughter, so we’ll see how that goes. I’m not a pushy mom, but I know how I like techniques, I want to make sure she’s good at teaching Olympia some techniques.”

Serena Williams also revealed that she’s also prepared little Olympia ahead of her first tennis lesson by showing her footage of a previous U.S. Open match. However, Olympia seemed more interested in watching a “cartoon baby video.”

The 23-time Grand Slam title winner also shared pictures of Olympia’s “cute” tennis racket and matching black-and-white skirt and long sleeve shirt Nike tennis outfit, along with her own “tennis mom outfit” — a teal maxi skirt and pink top. Serena made it known that she did not stick around to supervise Olympia’s first tennis lesson.

“I’m not an overprotective mom, no matter what Alexis [Ohanian, Serena’s husband and Olympia’s father] says,” Serena added.
